The "designed-in" characteristics of the Security Locknut allow it to not only optimize the loading of a joint but also retain its preload under the most extreme conditions. Security Locknuts consistently deliver a higher percentage of input load to the joint due to the spring (radial locking) characteristic of their design. This reduces frictional interference common in alternative (nylon, distorted, etc...) type products and maximizes preload while minimizing scatter. Then, once load is delivered, joint integrity is assured by our two-piece/one-part design which isolates the lock from the load thereby making the joint absolutely vibration and shock resistant.
