Square Security Locknuts, known as "Raillocs®" have been used in the railroad industry for many years. Most commonly found on critical trackwork applications due to the enormous strain it places on fasteners, Raillocs® are used on switches, frogs, timber bridges, and other railroad applications. With their heavier nut body and longer wrenching flat surface, Raillocs® are ideal for your field service requirements.
Having set the fastener standard in the railroad industry, Raillocs® have developed the reputation for holding America’s trackwork together. Available in Grade 5 and Grade 8 equivalent properties, they can be hot dipped galvanized or plated for use at locations subject to corrosive conditions and are made to A.R.E.A. and ASTM specifications. Dimensional product characteristics are made to ANSI/ASME B.18.2.2 1986. Locking characteristics exceed IFI 100/107. Special square nuts can be made to meet special problems. All product part numbers in this series begin with an "RL" designation.
